Athea/Mountcollins Rangers 0-12Dromcollogher/Broadford 2-06
Athea/Mountcollins Rangers U21s kept their unbeaten run in the West U21 A football championship with a well earned draw against Dromcollogher/Broadford in Mick Neville Park on Wednesday evening last. Jonathan Fitzgerald opened the scoring with a well taken point after two minutes but shortly afterwards the sides were level when the opposition scored a point of their own. The very energetic Sean Ryan scored two wonderful points but once again Dromcollogher/Broadford came back to square the match.
Stephen Cahill was in fine scoring form again and scored three points on the trot for Rangers. Just before half time Dromcollogher/Broadford scored a goal and a point to leave the score Athea/Mountcollins Rangers 0-06, Dromcollogher/Broadford 1-04. A pointed free from Stephen Cahill after James Ryan had been fouled two minutes into the second half had the sides all square again.
Dromcollogher/Broadford rocked us when they scored a goal and a point but a point each from James Ryan and Dylan Griffin brought us back into the game. The opposition got their last score of the game when they scored a point with twenty minutes left on the clock. We dominated the rest of the match but found scores hard to come by and it was three points from Stephen Cahill that earned us a draw.
